So how did this whole thing start? Here is a complete timeline of events:

  • July 22, 2009 - Trae Day 2 at TSU. Shots fired in the evening, 6 people injured.
  • July 23, 2009 - Trae on the Madd Hatta Morning show, Nnete says that Trae is responsible, Trae disputes.
  • Oct 23, 2009 - Trae's mixtape "The Incredible Truth" is released, track #6 "Uptown" contains a verbal jab at Nnete with the lines "Look at you with your bad built ass, you're trash. I'm so far gone you ain't even in the past. I guess it's understood while I'm rolling on glass, and the world hating on me like Nnete fat ass." KBXX 97.9 The Box quietly places a ban on Trae.
  • In the next few months, DJ GT Mayne and DJ Baby Jaye of the Kracker Nuttz are suspended.
  • April 21, 2010 - The Kracker Nuttz fired
  • May 5, 2010 - Trae announces he will file a lawsuit against Radio One for general damages to his reputation, character, standing in the community, mental suffering, loss of professional opportunities, performance revenue, record royalties and other damages.
  • May 14, 2010 - Judge denies Traes injunction request.
  • June 7, 2010 - Week long boycott of 97.9 The Box begins
  • June 15, 2010 - DJ Brandi Garcia fired
